Favorite Verses

John 14:18 "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."

This is one of my favorite verses because it gives me hope that Christ will return. He'll always be my comfort in life and beyond that. He will never leave me and will always be available to me and to listen to me when nobody else will.

James 4:8 "Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."

I love this verse because it reminds me that it's up to me on how close God is to me. I have to come to Him for Him to be able to get closer to me. As sinners we need to confess and make our hearts clean for Him. Christians should want to be nearer to Him. We need Him to save us, but only we can let Him cleanse us of our sins.
